Is a steam generator considered a steam boiler? What are the differences?

A steam generator is a mechanical device that uses the thermal energy from fuel or other energy sources to heat water into hot water or steam. It is classified as a small-scale device and is a type of steam boiler. With a water capacity of less than 30 liters, it falls under the category of exempted steam boilers. According to the “Boiler Safety Technical Supervision Regulations,” boilers with a water capacity below 30 liters are not subject to mandatory inspection under the boiler regulations and are therefore exempted.
